Bacteria Bundle: We use both microscopes and specialized laboratory growth media to check your water for the two most common nuisance bacteria that cause slime, clogs, and bad odors. Because they naturally anchor themselves to surfaces, they are notoriously difficult to capture and grow from a standard liquid water sample. This is why it is best if a sample of the actual slime or buildup can be collected and brought in for testing. The sulfur bacteria test can take up to a few weeks to complete.
Not federally regulated, but these nuisance bacteria create thick slime that clogs filters, damages plumbing, and creates musty/rotten odors.

Note: This test is most accurate if a sample of slime can be obtained from the well casing, water filters, water softeners, toilet tank, etc.
