TSA (Tryptic Soy Agar) Plates

Safety Profile: Prepared using professional-grade, industry-standard Tryptic Soy Agar growth media. While our uninoculated plates are completely sterile and non-hazardous, this nutrient medium is explicitly formulated to cultivate wide varieties of environmental bacteria and microbes. For educational safety and liability protection, all plates must remain permanently sealed with tape or parafilm after inoculation to eliminate direct exposure to concentrated live microbial cultures.

Disposal: To safely dispose of cultured plates, they must remain permanently sealed shut. Never reopen a plate after incubation has begun. Simply place your sealed dishes directly inside the heavy-duty, puncture-resistant 6-Mil disposal bag included with your supplies, seal the outer bag tightly, and discard it directly into your standard household trash.
